Jeanine Joy, PhD, CFIRS, AIRC, CHC, ACS
Happiness 1st Institute
Dr. Joy focused on a subject scientists told her was too big to ask because the broad scope created too big of a question for a scientist to tackle. They were right. She could not do all the research in medicine, biochemistry, psycho-neuro-immunology, positive psychology, psychiatry, quantum physics, neurology, organizational behavior, motivational theory, self-regulation, self-determination theory, resilience, and so much more that was required to discover the answer. But she could read the results of research others were doing and she could observe life with her question in mind, paying attention to what those who thrive do differently from those who do not, she could form hypotheses and then apply them first in her own life, then with friends and eventually, as she fine-tuned the answers, with large groups. That is exactly what she did for nearly two decades with one question, "What makes humans thrive?"
