Register for the webinar, April 23, 2020, at 1:00 pm ET (12:00 pm CT, 11:00 am MT, 10:00 am PT). This webinar is eligible for ACMPE, ACHE, CPE (live) and CEU credit. This webinar will be made available as a recording.

If your practice serves traditional Medicare patients, then you’re participating in the Quality Payment Program in either the MIPS track or in an alternative payment model (APM). Of the four categories of MIPS affecting Medicare reimbursement, cost is the least understood and may represent 30% of a practice’s future MIPS score. Many administrators and clinicians may have little experience in terms of understanding their total cost of care, let alone having a strategy to actively manage those costs. This session will define total cost of care in terms relevant for all practices, including total per-capita cost, Medicare spend per beneficiary and relevant episode-based measures. The session will offer examples of data sets available to clinicians, as well as instructions on how to access and/or request such data, plus examples of how practices can interpret and apply this data to manage costs within their control. The session will provide examples of how various specialties address reducing healthcare expenditures and demonstrate how practices can use this information in numerous settings, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A)/strategic partnerships, payer contracting, recruiting, network alignment, physician compensation methodology and more.

This 60-minute webinar will provide you with the knowledge to:

  • Derive data for total cost of care management in a healthcare organization of any size.
  • Apply data-driven strategies to manage healthcare costs.
  • Discover uses for total cost of care data in M&A /strategic partnerships, payer contract negotiations, physician compensation methodology and recruiting.
