As we continue to navigate the world of the pandemic, a recent study looked at some of the key challenges that leaders and managers will face in health care in particular. On a positive note, the study found that while employee engagement actually improved in 2020, serious clinician burnout concerns remain. In addition, the challenges with recruitment and staffing continue. As daunting as these challenges are, there is at the same time an opportunity to re-focus and align with the overall objectives of providing health care with an even larger opportunity for leaders and managers to be clearer about how their leadership style impacts organizational effectiveness. What can a manager/leader do to address this? What leadership traits and actions will be particularly important going forward? We will talk about challenges that get in the way, context, and managing across generations and create a shared space for learning from each other of how to apply to practice.
