About Us

WSMGMA LogoThe Winston-Salem Area Medical Group Managers Association (WSMGMA) exists as a local chapter of the North Carolina Medical Group Managers (NCMGM) organization. The local chapter is organized as a 501 (c) (6) under the Internal Revenue Code. It exists for the general purpose of continuing education in the field of healthcare administration. The group provides forums to address issues on a local and national level. Monthly meetings are offered to give members the opportunity to learn from sponsors and program speakers and to network and exchange ideas that help with issues they face on a day-to-day basis. We typically have around 35 members in attendance. The majority of our members are medical practice administrators representing multiple specialties and primary care.

Chapter Meetings

Meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month at Trellis Supportive Care, Education Building #121, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27013.  Members begin arriving at 11:30 a.m.

At each meeting, we have a vendor sponsor who speaks at the beginning of the meeting for about 10-15 minutes starting around 11:45 or 11:50 a.m. telling about his/her product or service. Please feel free to bring business cards, handouts, etc.; the sponsor fee is $500.00 payable to WSMGMA. Our Federal Tax ID # is 94-3448019. Our Treasurer or Vice President will send you an invoice for your records. Please bring your check to the meeting and give to our Treasurer or one of the officers or mail it to P.O. Box 25402 Winston-Salem, NC 27114-5402. You are encouraged to bring some sort of door prize. After speaking please feel free to remain for the presentation.

Next, we have an educational speaker who is not selling a product or service but gives information on areas such as coding/billing compliance, HIPAA, risk management, performance management, problem-solving, customer service, etc. The presenter typically has around 45 minutes beginning around 12:00 and ending around 12:45 p.m. for their presentation. Speakers are encouraged to provide electronic or paper copies of handouts used during the presentation. If you use a PowerPoint presentation and need a projector or other equipment, please let us know in advance.
