Kelsey Haag Associate Director, MGMA Government Affairs General Session -- Washington Update with MGMA Government Affairs [Handout] Friday September 16 | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Kelsey serves as an Associate Director for MGMA’s Government Affairs office in Washington, DC. In her primary role, she provides insight and analysis on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues important to medical groups, such as Medicare reimbursement, surprise billing, and the Quality Payment Program. In this role, she informs policy makers in Congress and the Administration of the important role group medical practices play in the healthcare system and works closely with MGMA members identifying critical issues impacting group practices.
Before joining MGMA, Kelsey was a Policy Consultant at McDermottPlus Consulting, a healthcare consulting group serving clients in Washington, DC. In her role there, she supported applications through the AMA CPT® and RUC processes, provided data analytics supporting client advocacy issues, and analyzed federal physician payment issues.
Kelsey holds a Master of Public Health with a Health Policy and Management focus from The George Washington University and bachelor's degrees in Public Health and Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.

Michelle Wallace, FACMPE, is the Practice Administrator at Gastroenterology Associates of the Piedmont in Winston-Salem, NC. She has been managing independent primary care and specialty group practices for more than three decades. She was honored to be named the NCMGMA Administrator of the Year in 2016. She earned her CMPE in 2012 and became a Fellow in 2018. In 2017, she became the ACMPE Liaison for North Carolina.
